I know that I don't normally wax lyrical in my blog posts, but both Brenda and I were wowed by our experience of covering Ant and Charlie's 1950's vintage themed wedding back in June. Not only because of the photographic opportunities presented by the theme itself, but also because it was such a charming and engaging wedding to attend! From the home setting itself (the wedding took place at Charlie's childhood home in Kent) through to the beautiful favours, flowers and table settings. There was even a Jukebox there, in true 1950's style!
The elegant 1950's style dress was simply stunning and offered us some truly amazing opportunities to grab some great portraits- My favourite two are the one of Charlie holding her head in her hands (Marilyn style) and the black and white portrait of Charlie and Ant sitting by the pond- My intention was to grab a portrait reminiscent of a vintage black and white film... I hope we managed to pull it off!
As a pro wedding photographer I hereby implore more couples to consider a vintage theme for their wedding- From a photographer's point of view this kind of theme really fires our imaginations to come up with images that are creative, elegant and full of romance......! Just look through the internet for 1940's and 50's portraits and you'll see an array of inspiring and dramatic images.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
We'd love to know what you think about this current trend towards vintage themed weddings and whether any couples are considering it.
